When it comes down to it we want it simple, and we want it cool. Our simple to install box is made from 6061 aircraft grade aluminum, which is pretty damn simple. Perhaps the coolness comes from the status display mounted behind an acrylic window. We wanted to be able go geek out with this charger and so we decided to leave the internals visible to give it the utilitarian tech vibe. As we've mentioned before, the purpose of an EVSE is to provide the appropriate amperage to the car, but all the complicated math is done by the computers on board the car. So all we need from our display is a basic status monitor. When connected to your wall outlet, the system reads "Ready", and then plugged into a vehicle, status changes to "Charging" and displays the charging current. Simple, but cool.
